Barsan Global Logistics will soon be running its Benelux logistics operations from Kersdonk Logistics Centre in Willebroek, Belgium. The new location will serve as the Benelux distribution centre for one of the world’s leading FMCG companies, among other clients of the logistics service provider.
As of 1 December, 2018, the Belgian branch of the Barsan Group will centralise its logistics operations in the Benelux to the Kersdonk Logistics Centre having signed a long term lease for 50,000 square metres.
“Barsan Global Logistics Business Development Executive Mehmet Can Günaydın said, “Barsan Group operates in 67 locations throughout 29 countries worldwide as we pride ourselves on our speed to deliver for our customers. We chose to base our Benelux operations in the Kersdonk Logistics Centre because it is conveniently located, is a high-quality warehouse for our staff and provides great access to key modes of transportation, which is essential in our business of delivering for our customers – fast.”
The Kersdonk Logistics Centre has multimodal accessibility thanks to its proximity to the Willebroek container terminal, and it is conveniently located on the Antwerp-Brussels axis, a strategic area for logistics operators. The site is also accessible to the N16, A12 and E19 motorways, connecting it to the whole of the European road network and national air traffic.
Barsan joins 2 other customers at Kersdonk Logistics Centre which is now fully leased.
Sara Van Hoecke, Country Manager at Goodman Belgium, said, “In addition to the location, we provide comprehensive property services offering our customers peace of mind, so that they can focus on and grow their core business. The Barsan lease at Kersdonk underlines the importance of the Antwerp-Brussels axis for logistics. Goodman has additional logistic property solutions available in Willebroek and Boom for customers wishing to take advantage of this strategic region.”
In this deal, Goodman and Barsan were assisted by real estate company Colliers International.
“This important transaction with Barsan, one of the largest in recent years, confirms how the Flemish Diamond, and the area of Willebroek more specifically, offer excellent multimodal opportunities for logistics players,” says John van Paassen, director at Colliers International Belgium.
